Tech N9ne featuring Crooked I & Chino XL - Sickology 101

When 3 of the hottest lyricsts get together on the same record , what can occur ? They spit fire on a 3min42-track, leaving the listener speechless ? Yep, it's the same ol' story...

Boo Rossini - Feed The Streets

There are different 2 types of rappers : Those who come from nowhere and go straight to the top thanks to one great (or not) single or a clever collab, and there are talented guys who've been in the game for years and who hussle their way to the top. Boo Rossini is this 2nd type of rapper.

After many years of rapping, local recognition, 5 indie albums, 1 failed deal with Interscope, he's still here doing his thang, hoping to grasp success. But his day is about to come... Just listen to his latest mixtape "Feed The Streets", and you'll feel the same way about him too.

French Montana - New York Minute (featuring Jadakiss)

You don't have the right to skip that track. French Montana & Jadakiss deliver great verses for a great track. This is typically the NYC music I like, from the sample to the flows, everything just fits.

Finale - T.I.M.E. (Think Innovate Move Endure)

7 days to wait until his new album "A Pipe Dream And A Promise" comes out. And 7 days within you can get acquainted with Finale, if you haven't yet, thanks to his pre-album mixtape : T.I.M.E. (Think Innovate Move Endure).

UGK - Da Game Been Good to Me

The new single from UGK, "Da Game Been Good To Me" has been clipped. This is my favorite joint off the album, but somehow it makes me kinda melancholic... no more UGK nor Pimp C. Indeed, that would weaken anybody's heart.

Slim Thug - Perfect 10

Ok, one more entry about Slim Thug... about it's always worth it, I swear !

Here's a iTunes bonus from his brand new album "Boss Of All Bosses". In this kind of situation, I always wonder why it didn't make the final cut... on a 13-track-album, while the track is pretty hot. Slim, please don't play it cheap next time !

Camp Lo - On Smash / '89 of Crime (feat. Styles P)

Let's get this beautiful day starting with a hot track served on a nice black & white video (which previews 2 tracks). The beat is verry addictive... "Meanie meanie meanie meanie meanie" !

Trap - 747 Fly

"Ladies & Gentleman, we are arriving at Phoenix, AZ, the sun is shining, temperature's very warm and there's a fucking new rap talent named Trap. Make sure you get all your belongings before you leave the aircraft. Thank you and press play !"

Until today, the only rappers I knew from Phoenix (which is a city I really love) were MC Magic and his folks from the NB Ridaz. Now I can say, I know them + Trap. Before that, I had made a few researches about the Phoenix rap scene without finding any interesting flows, even though I was convinced there were some undiscovered talents out there. I guess Trap was one of them, but he succesfully made his way through our ears.

Make sure you download his mixtape which is avaible on free download. It made a very huge impression on me, and on some other 40,000 people (according to Trap's myspace). The future's defenitely here !

Here is a sample, so you can make your own mind first.

Method Man - Freestyle

Tical is back at it with a raw 16 bars he dropped on G-Unit Radio. Enjoy !

Slim Thug - I Run (Remix) Featuring Brisco, Nipsey Hussle, Yo Gotti & E-40

New remix for the intergalactic banger "I Run" (yeah, I really like that song) with some new talents, confirmed talents and the veteran E-40. They should blend that one with the former remix with Chamillionaire and Z-Ro, that would make a stratospheric hit !

Jay-Z - Maybe (No Tags)

Our boy Hov' is back in the building with a new (short length) track, "Maybe". I read somewhere this was a leftover of "American Gangster", I am not sure... so maybe, maybe not.

The track has been circulation with tags, but here is the untagged version.

Paul Wall - Bizzy Body (feat. Webbie)

The Texas boy, Paul Wall will release his 7th album (yep already), "The Fast Life" on May 12th. The lead single is "Bizzy Bone", and you can watch the video right now.

I'm kinda disappointed with this track... not really outstanding.

T-Rock - War Wounds : Review

Bun B, Mike Jones - I Know Rap People : Texas Edition (XXL)

It's pretty fun to watch. Bun B & Mike Jones taking a quiz to (try to) prove they know their Texan rap fellows.

St Lunatics - St Lunatics

Do you remember 2001 and an album entitled "Free City" ? The first single was "Batter Up" ! Nah ? Ok, maybe I was one of the few people who actually liked that cd (I like some unexpected stuff sometimes) enough to remember it, and to be happy with that news !

The St Louis crew is coming back with a new eponym single, "St Lunatics" and I am pretty amazed because it goes way beyond my expectations. It doesn't sound like their former record at all. So I'm pretty sure that, this time, I won't be the only one to like it, will I ?

That's how I like Nelly and his homeboys to spit on a beat. And I hope that's they'll keep that level of rapping on their upcoming album "City Free" is gonna sound like.

This beat kinda reminds me of DMX's song "Where The Hood At"

Trae featuring Mistah Fab - The Real Life

Trae has a sovietic state of mind these days... producing music non-stop. One month after the collab cd with Rob G, "Both Sides Of The Fence", which is really worth it by the way, we got this new track with the Yellow Bus Boy, Mistah Fab. And the resultat is just as good.

I will write a bigger post about that cd with Rob G soon, because it doesn't deserve to be slept on like that.

Jim Jones - Pray IV Reign : Review

I really like the cover of this album, by the way.

Finale - Jungle Music

You must have ticked the date of April 7th on your calendar if you like Finale (his album "A Pipe Dream And A Promise" release date), but get ready for a new mixtape, "T.I.M.E.", by your favorite or not Detroit rapper. It will be out in a few days, before the album release, and here is a preview track :

Finale - Jungle Music

Kutt Calhoun - Bunk Rock Bitch featuring Tech N9ne

This song is off Kutt Kalhoun's sophomore album "Feature Presentation", one of the most slept-on albums of 2008.

I went bonkers as soon as I pressed play several months ago. So what are you waiting to press play too ?

Eminem - We Made You (video shoot)

Eminem's video for his brand new single "We Made You" (produced by Dr. Dre) will supposedly be broadcasted April 7th. And the buzz has been growing even more since these pictures of the shooting leaked. For those who still wonder, 50 Cent is only making a cameo.

The record itself should be out anytime soon so "keep your ears glued to the stereo" !

Bubba Sparxxx - Beatin Down Da Block ft. Dirt Reynolds

"Bubba ? Why have you been hiding for so long ?" That's the question I asked myself when I found this track. I've always liked Bubba so I'm glad he's making some new tracks, or at least one. Let's face it, it is not an outstanding song but still pretty decent.

Classified - Anybody Listening

I gave yesterday a 4-star-rating to the sophomore album, "Self Explanatory", of the rapper/producer Classified. And you're 1 click away from knowing why.

Slaughterhouse - Move On

I love this crew, it was so unexpected at first to see them boys together (Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9" & Crooked I) but they did. Sometimes rappers can do something else than dissing eachother... they collaborate !

Ethemadassassin - Walk In My Shoes

Great track (which ain't really new... out for a year now) by Ethemadassassin. I don't know much about him, so I will let the music speak for itself. Enjoy !

Suga Free - Hi Power Pimpin : Review

Classified - Self Explanatory : Review

Back in '88, Jazzy Jeff & Will Smith dropped "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper". But today, Classified is the modern definition of the One-Man Band, because he is the DJ and the Rapper. Thus, the rapper creates his own musical universe and invites the listener to travel with him from Canada to unknown places. And unlike some top-notch rappers, he won't brag about all the "I am big right now" producers who work on his album. He stands all alone on the edge of the cliff.

Classified is gifted behind his MPC rack, but he also is behind the mic. So you won't feel like a hungry kid who can't eat everything in the cookie jar. This album has everything to feed your musical appetite. "Choose Your Own Adventure", which is the running-gag-song of the album, is self explanatory of what this record is : innovative & original. You can't get bored listening to it. Everything is well-thought, even though, in my opinion it falls short of real bangers (my beatmaker friends would kill me for saying that).

It's hard to be young and talented, but it's even harder to keep up the pace of high valued releases. Classified rose to this double challenge, which is the least that a schyzophrenic musician could do.

Pacific Division - PacDiv EP

There's always something new and impressive on the West Coast right now, and I won't complain since I am a big fan of that sunny California.

Today's big act is Pacific Division with their "PacDiv EP" (iTunes link). A really valuable EP with (only) 3 great tracks. It sounds like old school with a new breezy touch of that 21th century. I wish the summer was already here so I could bump it in my car with my windows down and my sunglasses... not caring about if I run over a baby.

Pacific Division - Mayor

Suga Free, Mr. Capone-e, Young Lefty & Pinpin Young - Hi Power Pimpin

Suga Free's (aka the Pimp) new album is out today : Hi Power Pimpin. My review is coming soon (hopefully tomorrow), but this track already made my day.

Listen to it and you'll understand that "Yes, We Can" is definitely the best motto in years ahah. These 3 words are themselves a punchline !

Sway - The Signature LP : Review

You may not be familiar with this face (ok we don't see much with this Ghanaian bandana), but you may already know him if you (phisically or musically) crossed the Atlantic. His name his Sway, Sway Dasafo to be accurate, and he is from London, in the United Kingdom. Yes sir !

I am really fond of this UK rap. I don't know much about it though to be honest, but every time I peep one of their artists (like Kano or Akala), it's never a disapointment. And Sway could be the icing on the cake.

This guy has mad skills and his latest (and 2nd) effort, "The Signature LP" is a must have for all hip hop fans. It's been out for a few months now, but it's never too late for good music and good rhyming.

Enjoy these 2 tracks :
"Letter To Heaven" & "End Of The Road feat. Coco"

Famous - A Kid Tryna Make It feat. Mayhem Morearty & Blake Carrington

Great record, great video with great images of LA... Like Luda would say "It feels Greaaaat !". U gotta love this joint.

Crooked I - If You Ever Hear Me

New track by the west coast don Crooked I. Saddly, it's not off his new album "B.O.S.S.", because this record is just crazy. However... it will be featured on an other project, wait & see.

Bobby Ray - Ghost In A Machine

If you heard of some talented guy who went by the name of B.o.B., you already know Bobby Ray as he changed his name like a week ago.

But in these 2 sentences, you only have to pay attention to the word "talented". Indeed, he released a few days ago a little gem : "Ghost In A Machine".

Slim Thug - Boss Of All Bosses : Review

Let me break it down. There are a lot of very interesting websites who give comprehensive reviews about records. I don't wanna be the "+ 1". So I'm going to do what I usually do when I log on a "review website" : I check the rating and that's it.

Bizarre ft. King Gordy - You Think Special

D12 is coming soon with a new mixtape "Return Of The Dozen Vol. 2", the second project since Proof's tragic death.

The first leak is a record by 2 Fat MCs, Bizarre and King Gordy (who has a new solo project on the way too : "King Of Horrorcore Vol.2"). As a big Detroit fan, it's a real pleasure to share this track.

To give a very comprehensive news, those 2 guys have formed a group, The Davidians, and are supposed to release a project sometimes soon... as you can read above.

The future of Death Row Records

I want to share a very interesting read for those who are concerned by Death Row's future. As you may know, the label was sold at an auction and has a new owner : the Canadians WIDEawake entertainment. They gave an interview to the very good website hiphopdx.com.

Daz Dillinger - I'm 2 High

New track from Daz Dillinger off DJ 2 High's "West Coast Gangsta Shit Vol. 1". Good to hear some talk box again. And Daz is killing it on the mic. The album is available on iTunes.

Sticky Fingaz - No Swagger

Sticky Fingaz is cooking something new... a new album ? Like a new album entitled "StickyFingaz.com" ? Yup !

The single "No Swagger" leaked a month ago, but I kinda lost track of Sticky and the Onyx crew until I attended their concert yesterday. So thanks to the goldmine onyxdomain.com, I've found this :

Crooked I - I Am Still A MC

If you wondered a few weeks ago if Crooked I was still breathing after the dramatic shooting scene he was involved in, he has a blunt answer to give you : "I Am Still A MC". And he's too humble to admit it so I'ma tell you : he's the B.O.S.S.

Indeed, that's the name of his upcoming album that he'll will leak for free on the Internet very soon. Check out his first single :

Finale - A Pipe Dream And A Promise

Detroit's car industry might be in crisis for years, this city has still an incredible energy to be one of the engines of rap music. Its latest premium product is called Finale. His debut album "A Pipe Dream And A Promise" will be out April 7. That's the definition he gives of a hip-hop career in the 21th century.

Z-Ro - Top Notch

One more video of Z-Ro to make your day, that's 2 within a week. But it's as addictive as "Crack" (the album of course). "Top Notch" on video now :

Nipsey Hussle - Live in Salt Lake City

It's already my 3rd post about Nipsey Hussle... but I am telling you HE IS THE FUTURE !

He's tearing this stage up ! So enjoy his abilities live.

Ankore - The People Said...

I want to introduce you to a band, from California, that would deserve to be under the spotlights : Ankore.

I met them... In fact, I did met Akili Shine (one of the 3 members) on Venice Beach, like a year ago, while he was selling his CDs. I was one of his satisfied customer (money back guaranteed). From this day, their cd has always been around my cd player.

Their blend of true Hip-Hop and smooth R'n'B is a delight for the ears. And they do have a message behind their music.

The title of the album is "The People Said...", in reference to all the racism and violence that were not supposed to happen again... but it did.

Enjoy this video if you want to taste a new musical experience

Slim Thug - I Run Remix (featuring Chamillionaire & Z-Ro)

Slim Thug's new album "Boss Of All Bosses" is coming in 7 days and today, we have one more reason to boosts our expectations : his new remix of the song "I Run" featuring 2 of Houston's best MCs Chamillionaire & Z-Ro. And Ro delivers one CRAZY verse !

+ The video of the OG version

Joe Budden - In My Sleep

In the industry, new single = new video so here is Joe Budden's creation for his track "In My Sleep" off his album "Padded Room".

It's not the best track of the album, but it's definitely worth listening since Joe Budden is one of the best lyricist in the game right now.

Lucky Luciano - Popped Up

Ok, it's kinda old (2008) but I've just discovered Lucky Luciano. I was looking for some music, and some guy had this track in a player on his blog.

I am a big fan of the H-Town rap scene, which I've been following for yeaaars but shame on me, it's the first time I hear of that guy. The only latino MC I knew from Houston was Chingo Bling. Now I know 2 (ahah)...

Anyway enjoy this track & video : Lucky Luciano - Popped Up (featuring Paul Wall) off the album "Ahead Of My Time".

B-Real - Pyscho Realm Revolution

His album "Smoke N' Mirrors" is in stores for a month now, and here is the video for the track "Psycho Realm Revolution" featuring Sick Jackens.

CunninLynguists - Don't Leave (When Winter Comes)

Winter is about to be a painful memory as spring walts in the air, but CunninLynguists is reminding us about that cold time.

"Don't Leave (When Winter Comes)", the 2nd single off their new album "Strange Journey Volume 1" is ,productionwise, a new masterpiece by Kno and lyrically one more punch in our faces. It features Slug from Atmoshpere.

Treal - Goin Slap Off

I heard about Treal when they released their album "Crunk Tested And Approved" in 2006, which I thought was their first, until I read they formed in 2000 ! (I got a lot of music to catch up now...)

Anyway, 2 years and a lot of music later, I stumbled upon their new jam "Goin Slap Off", which they've just released. And I'm just like, it feels good to have them back. It gives so much energy you wanna... SLAP OFF !

If you need some catching up too, they uploaded all their mixtapes for FREE download HERE !

Knoc-Turn'Al - Knoc's Ville

He's knocking at your door... so open your ears, Knoc Turn'Al has something to tell you : "I'm baaaaaaaack" !

I love these kinds of news when you've been waiting for some new materials of one of your favorite rapper. The big news is that the Treacherous Records artist, Knoc-Turn'al, will release his new mixtape "Knoc's Ville" in April.

We should probably thank God for that. That's why he leaked the track "Amen" and the eponym track "Knoc's Ville".

Hustle Boyz - Twist Up Grapes

The Hustle Boyz made a huge impression when they released a few weeks (or months... my mind is kinda slow today) ago the track "Don't Bother Me" (View the video here).

The buzz is already huge, so don't miss out their firt mixtape which is on the way : "Hustle Boyz Or Nuth'in: A Breath of Fresh Air."

And here I come with som Fresh news - their new single & video "Twist Up Grapes" :

The West is definitely back :whistling:

Jay'Ton of S.L.A.B. - Got It By Tha Ton

In the shadow of Trae "Tha Truth", you might see his younger brother Jay'ton ! He's a really talented MC from Houston, who's in the game for a few years now so I'm happy to see that his day is coming eventually.

I've always thought he should deserve a bigger spot, I knew (hoped) it would happen, and here it is : he's taking is shot !!! So be on the look out because the future is here !

You can listen to "Bonified Hustla" HERE, one of the first tracks that leaked from the mixtape.

But Santa is coming with a new blaziiiiiing track "Hood Wide Up" to listen HERE. (My favorite)
