It was a sunny day (or not) in Port Arthur, TX, in 1987 when Chad Butler (Pimp C) and Bernard Freeman (Bun B) decided to form Underground Kingz. They wanted to tell their own stories but they ended up writing one of hip hop's biggest legacy, UGK, 22 years later. But in the meantime, Pimp C died tragically, not far from the stars, in a hotel room in Hollywood.
But after all, could this story, sorry legacy, have a happy ending ? We have a straight answer with their ultimate album, "UGK 4 Life". For all their fans, it will always sound like a never-ending encore, with Pimp C & Bun B at their finest. And we probably feel this way because UGK's biggest fan overviewed the whole project, and yes I am talking about Bun B. Now UGK will definitely be 4 Life, and yes it was a sunny day for us in 1987 in Port Arthur.
